The launch of Apex Legends brought a lot of players back to Titanfall 2 when it first released last February.
Last year, Respawn launched their battle royale game Apex Legends which is set in the Titanfall universe and has, fortunately, found a lot of mainstream success. Years later, Titanfall 2 has become something of a cult classic with a small, but dedicated fanbase. Sandwiched between Call of Duty: Infinite War, and EA's other major shooter franchise, Battlefield 1, the game never really got the chance to find an audience during its release window. Titanfall 2 suffered an unusually cruel fate when it launched in October 2016. However games like fortnite and overwatch have many daily players but are considered dead games. Many people say it’s a game with a low player base. The number only includes players using Steam, and not those who already owned the game on Origin who has come back to play with their friends or otherwise enjoy the newly expanded player base. Unfortunately, there is no solid definition.
Now Im stuck between going with 'the masses' and going with what Id actually like to play :/. Titanfall 2 will just die', but BF1 just looks like yet another Battlefield game and I really hate the setting, while I adore the Titanfall universe.
